Getting Up- (pictures are coming as soon as I can get out there with my camera)

If you have ever skateboarded, snowboarded, surfed, or anything close you are already at an advantage. Snowboarders click here. Everybody else just keep reading…

Ok, your board is set up, you have the perfect rope length, you know what speed you need, but you can't get out of the water. Don't worry, the hardest part is getting up. It can also be very frustrating, so here are a few tips.

  1. Don't fight the boat, this isn't tug of war, you want to work with the boat to get out of the water.
  2. Don't try to stand up too early, if you do it right, you won't have to do anything but hold on and straighten your legs.
  3. Don't get pissed off at your boat driver! It's not their fault your stupid ass is stuck in the water. I've taught all of my friends, and believe me, I'm done when I start getting yelled at.
  4. Unless you are super-human, your body is done after about 7 or 8 tries. Don't keep trying when you are too tired to get up, you will just frustrate yourself even more. Get in the boat, let someone else have a try, and GET UP the next time!

Ok, enough with the tips, let's go.

A sitting Dock Start is always the easiest, by this I mean sitting on the edge of a dock with the board in the water…

I won't lie to you, the Deep Water start is tough, especially if you've never boarded before…
